Recently, Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton presented the Mayor's Award for Environmental Achievement to Neil Armingeon, your St. Johns Riverkeeper. This award is presented annually to an individual or group that demonstrates unparalleled work in protecting, restoring, enhancing and preserving the environment in the City of Jacksonville.

“When we speak of safeguarding and improving the health of our river, there is perhaps no one more fitting to be recognized than the St. Johns Riverkeeper, Neil Armingeon,” said Mayor John Peyton. “Neil embodies river protection by acting as the voice of the river and working diligently for its health.  I commend him for his immeasurable work and am confident he will continue to be a resource to this community and the next mayoral administration.”
