River Service Saturdays: Bioswale and Park cleanup

Each month St. Johns Riverkeeper volunteers maintain and water the bioswale located at the San Marco Library. On February 25, 2017, volunteers are needed to visit the bioswale and perform a check up to make sure the plants are operating at maximum capacity in order to absorb as much runoff as possible. Depending on the level of volunteer support we get, Southside Park could also use some cleaning up.

Duties include:
• Watering
• Weeding
• Litter Pickup from surrounding property
• Planting
• Applying Pine straw

River Service Saturdays are an opportunity for teens to volunteer their time while supporting the health of our local environment and community. Our volunteer activities include microplastics monitoring, river cleanups, and bioswale landscaping.
