The GREAT St. Johns River Campout

This year, we are celebrating Earth Day with a full weekend of camping and events on the water. Join us for three days, one day, or one activity. We want you to experience the river in whatever way works best for you! Suggested donation $5 camping for members and $30 for non-members. See events below. Some require individual registration and payment with limited spaces. Camping registrations are now closed.

Friday 4/20
2:00 – 8:00pm Campsite Check In
3:00 – 5:00pm Early Evening Paddle on the St. Johns River (self-guided)
6:00 – 8:00pm Campfire Potluck

Saturday 4/21
7:00 – 8:00am Coffee and Quick Breakfast
8:00 – 10:00am Native Plant Hike with Florida Native Plant Society – Pawpaw Chapter
8:00 – 10:00am Bird Walk with Duval Audubon Society
8:00 – 10:00am St. Francis Trail Hike, 7.9 miles (self-guided loop)
8:00 – 12:30pm Kayak Cleanup with Explore Volusia for the St. Johns River Celebration (Call to register at 386-736-5927. *Must have your own kayak and safety equipment).
10:30 – 12:00 Kids Hike and Activities led by St. Johns Riverkeeper education staff
10:30 – 12:00 Citizen Advocacy Training with Lisa Rinaman, St. Johns Riverkeeper, Clay Henderson, Stetson University Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience, Saundra Gray, Volusia Water Alliance
12:00 – 2:00pm Lunch at the St. Johns River Grille (on your own)
1:00 – 3:00pm Afternoon paddle (self-guided, or kayak/canoe rentals available at Hontoon Island)
2:00 – 3:30pm Hontoon Island Hike and Museum Tour (self-guided)
4:00 – 6:00pm Sunset Boat Trip with Blue Heron River Tours ($20, must register by calling 386-873-4843)
6:30 – 8:00pm BBQ Dinner catered by Brians BBQ of DeLand (online registrations for the BBQ dinner are now closed but walkups are welcome – suggested donation $20; cash encouraged)

ONLINE registration is closed for camping and the BBQ dinner. However, we will allow BBQ Dinners to be purchased onsite while supplies last. Also, tickets for the guided wildlife SUNSET CHARTER with Blue Heron River Tours from 4-6pm are still available if you call (386) 873-4843.
