Plants for Buffers and Water's Edge
Remember, the most important thing is to select the right plant for the right place.(1) First, determine the characteristics and growing conditions of the area of your yard that you plan to landscape.
- What is the soil like? Is it sandy or clay? How well does it drain?
- Is the site dry, moist, or wet?
- Does the site receive full sun, partial sun, or is it shady?
- What are the temperature ranges for your area?
