Get on the Bus for Clean Water

Get on the Bus for Clean Water

Join us in Tallahassee on February 18 to support the Floridians’ Clean Water Declaration, a statewide campaign for the establishment of a new water ethic in Florida, and Amendment 1, the Water and Land Conservation Amendment that was passed by 75% of the voters in November.

Concerned citizens from all over the state will be traveling to Tallahassee to send a message to state lawmakers that stopping pollution at its source and protecting conservation lands is essential to protecting our water resources.

Buses will be providing round-trip transportation for only $40 from: Jacksonville, Gainesville, Ocala, Orlando, Melbourne, Bradenton, Port St. Lucie, St. Pete, Tampa, and Ft. Myers.  St. Johns RIVERKEEPER is sponsoring bus transportation from Jacksonville.

We want to make sure that we get as many people to the rally as possible to show our legislators how important clean water is to us.

Even if you can't attend the Rally, make sure to sign the Declaration and encourage your friends, family, and elected officials to do the same.

We also need to make sure that our legislators follow the intent of the voters. Amendment 1 was initiated to support existing land and water conservation programs like Florida Forever and the restoration of Florida’s springs and the Everglades. However, some politicians in Tallahassee have suggested the funds could be used for improvements to local wastewater facilities and other projects outside the scope of the amendment.

The Florida Senate Committee on Environmental Preservation and Conservation is currently taking public comment on the implementation of the Water and Land Conservation Amendment. CLICK HERE to submit your comments.

Let's make sure our voices are heard. We need to send a clear message that we want clean water!
