Following the tour participants are welcome to remain\, have lunch\, and explore the natural beauty of the area. \nAbout Wetland Preserve\nWetland Preserve’s primary parcel consists of 3\,800 acres\, all of which is protected by a Florida Forever conservation easement and also falls within the O2O wildlife corridor. \nAdjacent to the Rice Creek Conservation Area\, it is a 5000 acre project of the Saint Johns River Water Management District located in Putnam County\, Florida. On the southern border is Nine Mile Swamp Park\, a 1268 acre conservation project owned by Putnam County. Most of the land falls under what is considered a “mesic flatwoods” ecosystem designation\, with a fair portion of it being mature creek swamps and a smaller area consisting of dry sand hills. \nCheck out the tour section of their website to learn more: http://benandlouann.com/coming-for-a-tour/ \nCost: $15.00 per person \nWhat to Bring\nReusable water bottle\nSnacks\nBug repellent\nBug bite ointment (just in case the bug repellent fails you!)\nSunscreen / lip balm\nCamera\nBinoculars\nAny medical items you may need while out such as an EpiPen or diabetic supplies \nWhat to Wear\nLong sleeved T-shirt. Long sleeved is important because it gives you extra protection against biting insects and an extra barrier to protect you in case you inadvertently bump up against some poison ivy or other irritating plant.\nLong pants – blue jeans or hiking pants\nTall socks that you can tuck your pants into (for tick protection)\nHat\nSunglasses\nClosed-toe shoes \nREGISTER   (Spaces are limited) URL:https://www.stjohnsriverkeeper.org/event/wetland-preserve-guided-tour/ LOCATION:Wetland Preserve\, 299 State Rte 100\, Palatka\, FL\, 32177\, United States CATEGORIES:Education,Get Your Feet Wet ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://www.stjohnsriverkeeper.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Wetland-Preserve-600-×-600-px.png ORGANIZER;CN="Steph Morse":MAILTO:steph@stjohnsriverkeeper.org END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20240420T120000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20240420T140000 DTSTAMP:20240328T193246 CREATED:20240119T185650Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240205T214745Z UID:12443-1713614400-1713621600@www.stjohnsriverkeeper.org SUMMARY:Moncrief Creek Cleanup with Eartha's Farm DESCRIPTION:Join St. Johns Riverkeeper and Eartha’s Farm and Market during Earth Day weekend for an educational cleanup on Moncrief Creek.
